and for the bypassing... he did install a toggle switch on mine but it didn't work.... all it does it let video play in neutral when vehicle isnt moving... no difference... someone help me on this too
and where can i get the avic-n1 cds? i might try that
to do the mod on the AVIC2, you need to open it up and split the wire from the gyro the detects movement, as long as the gyro is detecting movement it will not let you play movies.
I dont if I would open up the case to the n2 personally, because it will void any kind of warrenty you have. Hooking up a switch for the video on the n2 is necessary but you still wont be able to watch video off of the mani screen. All you have to do it run the video thru the backup camera intput. As far as I know that is the only other way to do it.
As far as the sub, you should be able to tap onto the wires coming out of the sub and attach your own remote turn on and attach a set of rca's to the sub wires. I would have to see a wiring schematic to be sure on that. I will call mitsu today and see if I can find out for sure.
By the way, how much did the shop charge you?

they charged me $325 with tax for the avic-n2 install, rear view camera and the voice commander... i did take a look at the wiring...its very very messy...they just shove everything behind the cubby hole... but its hidden anyway..don't matter much...
I havent seen the SSL EVO package, but i had the infinity system in my 2003 eclipse (but no sub)
does the SSL evo package have an amp, or is it all in the infinity HU?
if it does have an external amp, and is connected to the HU via the MITAH adapter, then there are only 4 channels. the sub is just spliced into these.

i finally got everything to work... while i was playing dvds on it...i noticed different regions dvd wont be able to play in it..
is there anyway to upgrade the avic-n2 to play different region dvds as well as vcds???

best buy, circuit city, hhgregg(no sure), told me that i needed to replace the whole stock speaker system for it to work? which will cost me about $1000 plus labor....
is anyone else having this problem or have a solution?
i have Pioneer Avic-N2 dvd/navagational system...

The Avic-N2 will NOT play video while moving. It has an electronic gyro in it, soon as the car moves...video shuts off. No bypass is yet available for it
