#BC-72. Hallman LANCER Evo Short RX Kit
NEW Inside-the-cockpit adjustability
with a ceramic ball.
Similar to the Evolution RX model, but made for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution car. This kit has a shorter cable to compensate for the Lancer's behind-the-engine placement of the turbo.

I've heard very mixed reviews about the Profec-II. If you have your heart set on an EBC, I would go with the Apex-i, or HKS unit. I have yet to hear anything negative about either one of those.

i had the Hallman and i now have the Blitz EBC.......i will never go back to the MBC...hardest part of the install was running the wires though the firewall.....less then ten min to set it up( i didn't had to get out of my car).......Love the boost limiter....set it 22psi and it will not go over 22psi.....

coming from a Hallman to the EBC....with the Blitz boost comes on harder and faster..and it holds boost perfect to redline....

I loved the AVC-R from Apex that was on my MR2.Easy to adjust & has rpm settings for boost & other nice modes.Never overshoot set boost either.

MBC - Boost is something you shouldn't be playing around with. For me since I don't race on the street I don't adjust my boost at all.

The Greddy Profec B-Spec II is the absolute worst boost controller ever(Long miserable story). I would never recommend it to anyone. However Apex-i AVC-R , Blitz SBD-ic

Between my EVO and my old turbo civic Ive had both manual and electronic. I personally prefer Electronic even though I currently run a Manual one. I ran the Greddy Profec B Spec 2 for well over a year with no problems and know several people in the loacal area that run this controller with no issues at all. If you dont know jack about setting up the greddy profec b spec 2 then stay away from it. I can see how it can be hard to set up for some people but once its dialed in it is very easy.

Manual is really easy to operate but just like stated earlier you have to adjust it everytime the weather changes. I remember when I did some mods I kept having to pull over the side of the road, pop the hood and keep adjusting it. I know they have MBCs that you can adjust from in the cabin and also ones you can switch from low to hi boost.

Like I stated earlier I personally prefer EBCs all day over a MBC. Think of when you go to the track and you put in race gas and you want to run higher boost. You will hve to keep adjusting it over and over till you get right but with a EBC its just a turn of a dial and bam your done.

Basically its personal preference some will say they prefer manual and some will say they prefer EBC.

I have run many MBC's, and have personally had two EBC's on my personal vehicles, an HKS EVC IV and a Greddy Profec B Type S. I found the HKS to have more features than I really wanted, it made for too many wires, menus, etc so I got rid of it.... I liked the simplicity of the Greddy unit but it failed two days after installation. So I am going to say that honestly, it is all preference because I am sure I just got a bad unit, they all aren't going to fail like that. But from now on I will be only running MBC's on my cars. If you are worried about a pump and race gas boost level, simply scribe a line on the MBC for each setting and make it easy on yourself.

word.

hallman pro rx evo.

what I have, adjust on the fly with a twist of a knob.

I prefer mechanical than electronics. Mechanical, on such a simple thing as boost controller, there's not much that could go wrong.

But on Electronic ones, short circuit or something goes wrong, it's a headache trying to fix. That and you have to literally stop somewhere to adjust the boost.

Manual all the way. Just run off the wastegate spring if you have external and the MBC on race gas. If you don't external gate then you shouldn't be adjusting up and down anyway....just joking.
