"You said it. They didn't even give us a real brochure. Talk about cheap. Newspaper does not do justice "

True, but have you read that paper? Its damn funny, and sarcastic. I especially like the part about what the "kids call air" and how you need the intercooler sprayer for a trip to the grocery store.....cracks me up

funny though, I saw people selling those seriously lacking little foldouts they were giving away at the autoshow on eBay for like 10 bucks. I wish I would have grabbed like 100 when I was there.

I expect to see a few commercials right away. You guys keep forgetting that the purpose of this car is not to sell it, but to get people to walk into showrooms. Mitsubishi wants to get people into the dealers. If they don't have the Evo, they can say "well have you checked out our new Outlander?"
Expect Mitsubishi to advertise the heck out of this, and certainly more than what they have to back up the demand.

I have to agree that the Mitsu commercials have been bad lately, however I can't see how they'll need to do much adverstising for the EVO since most are doing this waiting for them:

back in the day, did Mitsu have commercials for your Galant VR-4? No. Why? Because they knew they would sell every one without having to advertise.

SC~ who only ever expects to see the Evo appearing as a cameo in a regular Lancer commercial

----It's been one week since you looked at me
Cocked your head to the side and said "I'm angry"
Five days since you laughed at me saying
"Get that together come back and see me"
Three days since the living room
I realized it's all my fault, but couldn't tell you
Yesterday you'd forgiven me
but it'll still be two days till I say I'm sorry----

the official anthem for US Lancers. what the hell?

All you people saying they shouldn't advertise the EVO, don't understand what the EVO is supposed to be.

It's a HALO car, just like the WRX is for Subaru, or the Viper is for Dodge.

People see the exciting, awesome halo car (halo, like the one around the head of an angel, get it?) and start thinking things like, "I can afford a Dodge Intrepid, and Dodge makes the Viper too, so it can't be *all* crap can it?"

Or people come into a Subie dealer after seeing the awesome WRX commercials and end up buying a cheaper RS because they can't afford a WRX, but hey, the RS *looks* like a WRX.

Of course Mitsu should put out some AWESOME EVO commercials, even if they can't make enough, because of the "halo" it would give their other crap cars. People think "Hmmm the EVO is wonderful, this Lancer that I can actually afford must have some of that awesomness too!"

Embrace the Halo effect. That's all the EVO is good for. Mitsu definitly isn't going to make much money off the EVO, with it's limited numbers and expensive drivetrain.
