Moving to Orange County!

I am moving from Dallas to Orange County (Rosemeade) in October. I was wondering if anybody here lives there and if there are some CRAZY laws regarding cars. I have heard stuff like your car can't be lowered too low. If there is any such laws please let me know. Thanks I will appreciate any info.

CRAZY laws??? not really. If you have a loud exhaust, you will most likely get pulled over if the cop is near you. If your front windows are tinted, you will most likely get pulled over. Too low....not really, unless it is really really slammed.

Since you drive an EVO, you might ("will") get harrased more than the average person. I have been driving my WRX for 3 years now with exhaust and have yet to get pulled over because of it.

Basically, the only way you or anyone else gets pulled over is for doing something stupid or the cop is just being a punk with nothing to do.

Enjoy the weather!!!

From: Aberdeen, NJ now in Ca.
When I lived there the rule for height was; no part of the car can be lower than the lowest part of the wheel rim.(really) That way if they spike-strip you, you won't drag a hole in your gas tank and blow up and you can still run on the flats because they like to chase. (well, maybe)

It always depends on the cops, we have some nice cops and we have those D*CKS!! , but by LAW...

-no window tint on the front windows that is too dark to see the person driving
-by law, u can have ur car lower than 22 inches from center of headlight to floor, but cops rarely care about lowering on a car
-modified exhaust is a no no even if it retains the stock cats
-im sure this applies everywhere, but cops are usually really **** about seatbelt laws
-no loud music. thats a 505 DTP ticket.

yet i still run catless

Dont forget the front plate ticket. Not sure how strict they are about it but they like to get us up here in Sac for it. And the tinted widows to is a big one up here, there is no tint allowed at all on the 2 front windows.
Good luck

My front and back windows on my Audi are really tinted, and my previous VR4 was straight limo tint, I never had a problem. Like what was said earlier, it depends on the cop, it's the same anywhere, there are d*cks and then there are some cops that are cool. As far as the OC, it's really nice, especially areas like Brea, Laguna Nigel, Irvine, and Newport. Southern california, is a really beautiful place to live once your lungs get adjusted to the smog. Hey but your from Texas and the smog there is almost just as bad.

I got pulled over twice in a year. Cops said I was speeding but that's just an excuse to check you out. When they realize the car was stock and that I'm old guy they let me go.....
Keep visible mod's to a minimum. I'm thinking about getting rid of the wing when I find a good way to plug the holes.
By the way, you won't need good rain tires. Welcome to Cal. Leave your guns in Texas.
