When ordering replacement filters for our HKS RS intakes, does it include a new plastic filter "housing" with it? Or is it just the foam element and that's all? When I say plastic thing, I'm talking about the piece behind the "honeycomb" like cage with bolt that unscrews. I'm asking this because I cracked mine by clamping it down too hard. Anyone know where I could obtain a new one if it's not included in the new filter? Thanks.

 

it is just the foam piece, and i believe lancer shop has them under the maintenance section. 24.99 i believe.

Thanks, yeah it looks like I'll have to order a whole new mega flow kit to use with my RS kit. What's another 100 bucks after spending 5 k this summer?

No that's what I broke and was trying to figure out. Wait, what plastic ring are you talking about?

 

If you just need the cage and the little round thing that screws on it, I'll have an extra set brand new. Let me know if this is what you needed or if you needed what I was talking about. I'll see if I can help.

 

The entire attachment that holds the cage and filter to the MAF. The Piece that you put the coupler on and use the band clamp on.

yeah that's the same part that I broke. Did you overtighten yours too? You'd think that they'd make it a little bit stronger.

Damn, are the cages flimsy or something? I'm thinking about putting an RS on the car and that concerns me a little, even if it is easy to replace. Coz it's still a pain.
