vacuum question

hey guys, i just installed my Defi boost gauge. when the car is off, the needle doesnt sit completely on zero. the needle sits on the lower half of the zero hashmark... at full boost it hits the hashmark right before 20 (im assuming thats 19)... and at idle the vacuum reads exactly at 20 mm HG, are these numbers consistent with what you are getting on your guages? or is mine off a little bit.. .i m mainly concerned cuz when i turn the car off the needle is just touching the lower part of the zero hasmark, not completely covering it... thanks in advance.

that sounds like the needle is a little off. return the gauge and get a new one, if you want it to read dead on. or just keep it, it will still work just fine

Des it give inaccurate readings because of its position?

even though it sits just a hair below zero, max boost (i have a '03) hits the hashmark right before 20. so im assuming thats 19 which would be accurate, but those smaller hashmarks dont seem to be 1 psi each (between 10 and 20 psi.)
