Where to get the Super AYC...
Where to get the Super AYC...
Im really interested in getting one no matter how much the cost. Its funny how nobody on this thread ask about it. The super AYC (active yaw control) combine with acd would make the evo complete. Im more of a track guy chasing down cars that are in front of me so having this installed in my car would mean alot to me. Does anybody know anything on how and where could i get my hands on this?
I know that no one would be trained to work on them here because its a whole different system and one of the reason why it wasnt installed in our evo's. But I still want them.

IMO, more importantly is where are you going to put it once you get it? It's my understanding that the required hardware is installed in the space currently occupied by the evaporative emissions control system and the windshield washer tank. Maybe I'm wrong...
BTW, I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of $6000-$7000 to fully install S-AYC. It seems that a nice set of tuned Ohlins would get you more bang for your buck.

if you're interested, give me a PM. I've got a unit which comes complete with the 6speed tranny, centre differentials, rear differentials, Super AYC + ACD+ECU, AYC pump... complete conversion.
Only setback is, i need to courier it from Asia.

To do this you'll need:
SAYC diff
AYC pump
Hydraulic lines
AYC computer
AYC sensors
And then after you have installed it you'll need to bleed the system, you may need a tool from Mitsubishi to do this, and snice I doubt Mitsubishi US has any experience with AYC diffs then this might be a little tricky.
Personally I would just stick with the LSD, most proper race and high HP evos tend to ditch the AYC diff in favour of a convential LSD.
But if your hearts set on it then go ahead, just keep in mind that if something goes wrong and you need help with it you may find that help is far away.

I still dont understand why you would want it. Any and every single track race-bred Evo has gotten rid of it. In fact I think its illegal by 99% of all sanction racing events. So if you are a real track ***** you should be working on your lines and not trying to cheat them. (no to offend you in anyway)
I think the cost and hassle would be way too much. Not to throw salt in your game NoTiGuy, but I would never buy a used AYC of anykind unless it had under 10k on it. There is a good reason they got rid of it.
But like Yogi said if you got your heart set on it go for it and make sure you have a second car cause your Evo will be sidlined for atleast 6-8 mons for the swap.
