Gasoline octane

How you rank the octane in USA?
When you talk that are using a 92 oct gasoline you are talking about...

RON
MOM
or RON + MOM / 2?

Check out the last Sport Compact Car magazine. Or maybe it was the one before the current one. They have a whole article on how they rate the fuel here.

American octane ratings are on the "Anti Knock Index". That is (RON+MON)/2. 91 octane AKI is around 95 RON and 93 octane AKI is around 98 RON.
