What doesn't make it a limited production car? They're making a set number of cars. Period. They did that with the VII's as well, just they made more than they made before, but once they hit a number, they stopped.

Don't expect to see tons of these things just floating around.

Sounds limited to me.

Thought dealers have the invoice since you know the price and profit margin and etc?

Thanks for your efforts Fireball! Keep us updated if ship dates change

I'm in agreeance with everything Fireball has said. My stock stereo in my old 94 Mirage actually sounded very good. It didn't rattle the bolts out but I'm not into that anyways. It was loud and clean and had just enough bass to make me happy. As for this car being almost as much as a G35 Coupe. Well, what kind of car are you looking for? A G35C while it's nice is below par with the 350Z IMO. The Z is faster and has a similar interior. Not as plush but nice. The Z will cost you $35,000 + any markup if they have one. Most will get the touring or track so that's the price. That also doesn't include tax, license and registration. The Evo will flat out beat both of those cars in any category performance wise. You pay for performance people. Probably more so than luxury. Plus the Evo has more cargo space and is more practical to boot. In all honesty the Evolution is WAY too FAST for a $30,000 car. People pay in the mid to high $40's for this kind of performance. You can't beat it for the price.

I'm sure those who wait will get it cheaper but at a much later date. I have a $3000 markup on mine and that was the cheapest around my area. But I will still be getting it. Cuz I know that supply and demand rule the consumer market and I'm still getting a bada$$ car for the money.
Well put. There is more technology (money) in performance. The dollar/performance ratio of this car is staggering. Enough said.

About the wing being standrad, it was a rumor created here on evolutionm.net. People probably expected that since it was standrad on the previous evo's except for the GTA.

Nope, we have the equipment package sheets, which show the car's MSRP and dealer costs for all the different FOGs (equipment packages).

Ship dates stand at 3/5 as of right now.

Technically it is standard equipment, since the large spoiler is part of the A00 package, which is the STANDARD package.

What was created on here, is that the STANDARD package must be the least expensive, which it doesn't have to be, nor should it be.

Ok, the reason I dont fear buying this car is that I think it will hold its value really good. 6500 cars is not large production! If I decide to get out of this car after a few months-a year of driving it the only thing im really going to loose is the $2,100 sales tax.
That sucks but o well.
And didnt someone in another thread say mist. just cant roll out all of the evo8's they want,,,, not like 20-30,000 cars a year. It is just too labor intensive and there plant isnt set , or they simply cant do that?
Anyways my thinking on this car is that it will hold its value very good, Im thinking almost as good as a Supra TT. Those cars were very small production runs.
But if im wrong o well- you only live once , and these days anything can and just might happen.
And for the teeny boppers in here.... This car is going to run me
$566.23/month @ 4.9% for 60 months. That is a $30,000 loan, plus $2,100 out of pocket for sales tax.........Im streching my monthly payments by $130/month.......
So put the smackdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the pricing is fine. For the amount of money we are putting down and for the stuff we are getting is well deserved. We are getting what we pay for.. I am glad with that.

Was just looking at my newspaper brochure on the Evolution. It actually does say the large wing is standard equipment and the low profile GT wing is an option as is the sunroof. So according to the actual brochure the big wing IS standard. Just thought I'd let everyone know. Take a look in the back pages of the brochure. What's with Mitsubishi's crappy a$$ newspaper brochures anyway? I was shopping a 350Z and a Mini Cooper S and they both had really nice booklets.

Not really.

The first Template on the Pricing sheet is actually A03, the Evo with small spoiler for $28,987. A64 (small spoiler with sunroof) is next at $29,737. A00 comes third with a MSRP of $29,647 (basically substituting the big spoiler for small and adding $480, so real cost of big wing is closer to $900). A61 is the last Template at $30,217 by adding the sunroof to A00.

Be sure to add $595 for destination to the above of course.

I talked to one of my local dealers today and the pricing matches up exactly as Fireball said.

The Dealer is selling them @msrp but is installing a "Mandatory" options package that includes:

front and rear aluminum strut braces
gauge cluster
pedal and shift knob upgrades
scuff plate (plastic thing on the bottom of the door "jam")

Dealer is charging $4100 for this package. To me this seems really expensive. Anyone out there know what invoice/MSRP should be for these items individually? I don't mind paying MSRP but I refuse to pay more (It also pisses me off that i have to pay for options that I don't want like the pedal and shift knob upgrades).

Thanks for any input.

AKA Gouging.After_The_Fact

Let the dealer know you're checking with Mitsu about "Mandatory" options(!), and hint as to where the strut bar will end up being fitted iof it turns out to be bogus

You're getting ripped. Prices are about:

Front Strut Bar: $450
Rear Strut Bar: $250
Guage Cluster: $450
Pedals: $75
Shift Knob: $50
Scuff Plate: $50

That's about it. There's exact prices on that stuff somewhere in another thread. But those are pretty close estimates.
