Thanks for the info. I told the Dealer to stick it (was much more polite at the time) after he told me the price. Not that it will do much good but I now plan on writing an email to the dealer and Mitsu to complain. I also plan on telling everyone I know that this Dealer sucks.

Thanks again!

-Brett

ps. the dealer is: Schaumburg Mitsubishi in Illinois.
pps. Hey Fireball, does your dealer still have any Evo's available

You're getting ripped. Prices are about:

Front Strut Bar: $450
Rear Strut Bar: $250
Guage Cluster: $450
Pedals: $75
Shift Knob: $50
Scuff Plate: $50

That's about it. There's exact prices on that stuff somewhere in another thread. But those are pretty close estimates.

According to the LA Auto Show, the high spoiler is standard.

Those prices don't include installation though, just the parts.

According to the Dealer Pricing Template the big spoiler is Option code S1.

We've covered this all it needs to be covered already. You've seen how the pricing lays out, so what's your point?

No point. It jsut seems that MItsu keeps changing their numbers. So what the **** is it? MSRP is stipped, rounded 29,000. The why the **** are they showing a decked out Evo at the show and say it will be priced at 29,000? Just show a POS stripped Evo and say thats what is going to cost 29,000.

Just go to Mitsubishicars.com and view the LA Auto Show vid. He says it all.

What are you talking about? At the launch Pierre said the Evo would start at 28,967 which is absolutely correct and has not changed.

Nissan and BMW have an advertising budget. MMC doesn't.

Though that may change soon - DC's starting to loosen the purse strings.

I guess what he's trying to say is they needed a little fine print disclosure like TV ads have saying "$30,812 as shown". I agree the MSRP is correct but the price of that EVO that was shown isn't 28,987

So let's think about this... $33k out the door, California registration is gonna run you about 300-400/year maybe more with them repealing the car registration break... Insurance... I'm over 30 but will probably still pay 1000/year at absolute minimum, more like 1200/year with a good record. Maintenance on the car with synthetics. The TCO (total cost of ownership) is gonna run me 40k not including depreciation on a "unlimited but kinda limited production car". Oh, and on top of that, we don't get 6-speed or ACD.

It ain't cheap kids.
