I am just wondering if all you guys that are feeling this is due to having the a/c on. If so of course the Evo will be sluggish because it has to turn the a/c compressor which takes away about 20 hp. Drive with the a/c off and see how the car feels. I don't have this problem in any weather.

Here is a little info regarding temperature vs horsepower change...

In general for every 11 degrees Fahrenheit or 6 degrees Celsius change a 1 percent change in horsepower can be realized if A/F is also corrected for that temperature. Turbo cars are more sensitive to temperature change than normally aspirated ones mostly due to the air passing through the IC. Cooler air is more dense and therefore has more oxygen per cubic foot than warmer air. More oxygen allows for more fuel to be burnt, and therefore more power to be produced.

Example:

If the air ingested by the engine is 66 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than the surrounding air then a 6 percent increase in power can be realized with proper A/F.

Heat also can lead to detonation and could be futher exaggerated by low octane gas. That is why meth or alchohol would also help. Knock pulls timing which also equates to less horsepower and that sluggish feeling.

The CryO2 gave a good friend of mine 3mph and a couple tenths in the quarter on a warm day after numerous pulls without it. His CryO2 cools the IC, Intake Pipe, and fuel via the fuel rail. Cooling the fuel definitely helps which many people overlook. Cool Cans which cool the fuel have been very popular with muscle cars for years.

bro all of us suffer in the heat. When it is really hot I just put the ac on full blast and drive in the right lane with my blinker on hehehe. I never push my car in the heat.

tried that already...its extremely hot here, trust me you will always have your ac on in az,even if it was night. The car do run better with the ac off,but its so hot here you will feel like your burning if the ac is off.

Actually a Suby would feel more sluggish than our cars being that the intercooler is on top of the engine. All that hot air rising and warming the intercooler. Ours is low and front. So it gets the cooler, relatively speaking, air from down below. Not to mention it gets fresh air from being in front.
