hey how did they lower hp and torque ratings

hey how did they lower hp and torque ratings

what exactly did they do that lowered the hp ratings and the torque ratings on our evo, what did they do?

no no no i mean what did they do to our evo to lower teh horsepower .... what did they do ya know, what did they take out or what did they do to ditour the car of the extra 5 ponies and 1# torque

It most likely got lowered by re-mapping the ECU.. Fuel, timing, etc... Also the HP rating that you state is underrated... It is more like around 300HP and about 290Lbs of torque... So most likely getting a computer will dramatically help I'm sure... We'll never know till we all finally get one dammit!!!

Maybe some low end toque was lost due to the stripping us of the titanium blade

I guess the only way to find out for sure if Mitsu is underrating the HP in the US Evo is to get it dyno'd while stock, after the break-in period... I just hope insurance companies don't see the results of the dyno if the real HP figure is higher than 271....
