Why would you use a 264 Exhaust Cam with a 272 Intake Cam?

This is the same setup that Chris at Engine Logics recommended for me today. I didn't get it either at first (I still don't completely) since everyone seems to be doing the opposite with their cams or just 272s. Either way Chris knows his stuff. He does all the head work for Garage-Defeat... the same company who is credited for making the heads for fastest evo in the America.

I have the 272I 264E and it works great, you'll love it. Only about 1hp difference between straight 272's.

hes using the bigger cam on the intake cuz from factory the stock evo intake cam is bigger than the exhaust. thats why the evo produces good low end torque.

an evo owner here in vegas did this and produce some nice numbers compared to others who use a 264/272 combo.

for what i seen the 272/264 will help ur torque more. while the 264/272 should help ur horsepower more. correct me if im wrong about this.

but we should see some more numbers on the 272/264 soon. it seem like more and more owners are tryin this out

Yes I want the torque. I love the bottom end that the evo has. I plan on a different turbo soon and I want to only go a little larger. I love the street lowend power. Also I have noticed that the boost never tapers at all. The smaller duration keeps on the exhaust valve closed to keep the boost up. Cant wait for the TURBO-TRIX retune.......!!!!!
