More rice?
the Sti shift light is cool (I used to have a STi cluster in my WRX), its built into the cluster and is very discreet. I would never put a regular shift light in my car and just like Steiner said , i just usually listen to the engine. Hers what it looks like (it under the 5 RPM)
uh yeah- IMO shift lights are only for superpowered cars of any make with non-existant flywheels that hit their rev limiters in the blink of an eye-
the only shift indicator you need is the sound of the engine- and if you can't hear it you need a louder exhaust-
you can't be staring at a ****ing tach while you're trying not to hit things jumping out in front of you

I agree with just adding the shift lite. I saw an evo that had the shift light hidden behind the a/c vents to the right of the steering wheel. I liked that a lot. Not visible when it doesn't need to be, but you can see it when racing.
AEM and shift light
My AEM software is configured to turn on the Service Engine Soon (SES) light when I hit redline or wherever I want to program it to. When I first got the car with AEM and the light came on I was like holy cr... I thought that I had f'd the engine. I figured it out shortly after. Very cool I think.
I had my rev limiter removed on my last flash. Having a light or a beep or some kind of warning signal that I'm rapidly approaching 8000 rpm's would be nice. Putting an 8" monster tach off to the side near the a-pillar with an annoyingly large and distracting light isn't my idea or a warning. I'd definitely look for something more subtle.

all of the aftermarket parts we put on our car is RICE.
