you might wanna read up on the laws about changing out your catalictic converter before you slap a new one on there.....unless you plan on using that car for racing only. just some food for thought.

You can not alter/modify the factory stock exhaust system or catalyst converter for any reason unless the stock exhaust is damaged and/or the car is 10 years or older.
It is a very strict law in CA. I don't think you can touch the exhaust at all unless it is damaged or 10 yrs old. If it's damaged you need to get it replaced with another CARB approved product.
But do some research in the state you live in, i'm not too sure what it is.
My Helix HF cat would throw SES lights every day or two right off the bat. Until I installed the eletrical simulator. Kinda sucks because I would have paid less than half the price for just a test pipe if I had known that ahead.
I have the UR high flow cat and its great although it does set the CEL for catalyst inefficiency. I put one spark plug anti fouler in for the mechanical CEL fix and that took care of it.

When my sisters cat went bad on her 2002 Lancer we had to have it rebuilt. I called every muffler shop in the phone book and they all said the same thing, that they could put another cat on and that it should pass the visual inspection but the factory cat is the only one that is technicaly legal on OBDII cars.
