clutch question

clutch question

i'm gonna get a 03 evo next week (coz thatz all i can afford) but i heared about the recall about the clutch that is so weak and overheats or melts right away. are all mitsubishi dealership are going to fix that problem? if i replace it would it mess up my transmission. i really need to know

There is no clutch warranty on any evo as far as I know. I have an early production 03 w/ 19K and my clutch hasn’t 'melted', in fact it feels better that I would have expected it to.

No an aftermarket clutch wont harm your transmission unless it was installed incorrectly or you abuse it.

well they say that if you launch the evo, the clutch breaks earlier than any other sports cars, is true? and what was the recall for if they don't give any warranties for it?

The clutchs are not under warrenty. When the 03's first came out Mitsubishi was replacing them, after they replaced 3,000 clutchs, they decided to no longer cover "Clutch" under warrenty.
They never really had a recall on the clutch, some people with Evo's don't know how to drive them Stock, They can get beat up pretty quick unless you drive it correctly.
