Evolution Buy back

I just received a letter from Mitsubishi offering to Buy my Evo back. If this isn't the wierdest thing. Has anyone else got this letter yet? Here is what the letter says "We need to to acquire several pre-owned Evolutions in order to fulfill special manufacturer requests" and on and on but that is the jist of it. They say they will take my car on a trade in for any other Mitsubishi and give me a good deal basically. They want me to bring my car in to have it evalutated. I wonder if this has anything to do with all the problems they have been having with the Evo8's here and in Japan. There has been allot of recalls. Anyone have any info on this?? Big questions

How old is your car and how many miles are on it? Have you done all service at the dealer? I wonder if Mitsu did a search and found cars that meet their criteria. They can have my car if they're looking for a two year old car with 51K and the original clutch!

Sounds like a marketing campaign to me. After all, the only way they make money is by selling new cars.

Yea, I got the same thing too a few weeks ago. I called my sales guy and he said it was just the normal crap they send out to get you in the show room (although he didn't phrase it like that).

This is just an offer to get you in the door and sell you another car. Ignore it.

I would not be suprized if its just another one of their lame marketing techniques to get you to buy a new vehicle. I would never buy any other mitsubishi, the evo is just an exception. Heck, I would buy an evo even if it was made by TATA (obscure Indian auto manufactuer).
