Turboback exhaust
Engine management

05 or newer EVO put out about the same power as STI (stock 4 stock). 05 or newer EVO don't really need MBC because it holds boost pretty steady to redline.

Go with Vishnu stage 1....a little more pricey, but awesome quality, innovative designs, better quality, and good customer service.

Had a 2004 STI with a Cobb stage 1 accessport. Sold my STI before I went to a stage 2 and bought an MR. The equivalent to a cobb stage 2 (accessport stage 2 and turboback) on an STI on an evo would be a Works P2 reflash with a turboback exhaust. Remember, that the 9 has a different turbo so you would likely have to wait a while for works or vishnu to get a new flash since the ECU will likely be programmed differently and the 9 has more horsepower than the 8. You gonna become the next ex-STI guy. Stock evo does not have anything close to the low end torque and pull of a cobb stage 2 STI, but with a reflash and turboback exhaust the low end torque and power is much improved. Evos with a reflash and turboback are pulling low 13s easily. My stock MR boosts to 19.5 while a stock 04 STI will boost to 14.5. There is, however 0.5 liters more to the

STI-489,
For your info, WORKS is the mitsubishi equivalent to Cobb for the subaru. Check out their web site. They value reliability and have excellent well built stuff for the evo and do evo only just like Cobb does subie only.

great info thx...thats the one big thing i'm gonna miss is the killer tq

how do you feel about the RS version? i can afford the MR..but feel the stripped version would be best for me..is not having abs that big of a deal? any reasons why i should get a MR ..besides tranny and softer susp? i do not mind the rough ride or rawness..i actually like it ..the more raw the better

The 05's hit 21 psi for a millisecond and drops to 16 psi.

Maybe on a datalogger, but I'm seeing about 20psi pretty steady on a boost gauge.

Trust me, once you start modding the Evo, killer torque isn't an issue. You'll probably find yourself laughing about how little torque the STi has in comparo.

Second that. With the new SMART technology on the Xede you can add your mods a little at a time.
