Unhappy EVO IX Bumper Dudes Enter<<<<

I just installed the evo IX rear bumper cover. My exhaust (over axle pipe & muffler) rubs against the bumper cover .

Does any one have a cat back that sounds, fits properly? Straight design exit is what I want. BTW my cat back is Ti, and Id like to install another if possible...

Honestly from what I read everyone has to cut a little bit off there exhaust to shorten it up.

Pro-1 cat back J U N K- The muffler is too long and fat. I know cutting the pipe is the thing to do, but muffler is Ti, and can't be welded to SS pipe. It is crimped on not welded.

I figured I would cut the pipe, and clamp it back on...

I lenghten my Greddy Ti by welding a 2 inch extenstion on the test pipe. Maybe you should cut the test pipe and shorten it from there instead.

I have a Ultimate Racing exhaust and i was rubbing with the new bumper. I went to a muffler shop and got the pipe shortened a few inches back. Cost me 20$. I really wanted a new exhaust at first too but now im more than happy with the result. Its literally a 10 minute job.

Save your money and just fix it unless you really hate your exhaust.

I have seen pics with the Greddy Ti on the IX bumper and its fits great. (since its too short for the US bumper as stated by Derek888

you could try to make your hangers re-welded, instead of buying a new cat back.

that would be the easiest way to fix your problem and the cheapest.

Yeh, Evo IX rear bumper is about 2 inches shorter then the USDM evo 8 bumper.

looks a lot better too.

One of our friends got one here, he is planning on cutting his exhaust tip about 3 to 4 inches just to make it look right, since it's hanging way out.

you should be able to take it to a muffler shop and have them cut the pipe before the can. they can slip one end into the other and weld it back up. relocate the hangers and you should be golden... thats what they did with my IS when i went to the cwest kit. jdm bumpers are shorter then usdm due to the lack of a crash bar.
