With a TBE, bov, and mbc set at 20 psi there should be no potential issues to worry about. The biggest problem I see is people beating the crap out of their drivetrain from slamming gears and high rpm clutch dumps.

omg stop listenong to whatever this kid says. YOU NEED MORE FUEL TO RUN MORE BOOST. why would you tune for x boost setting then? why can you run more boost with higher octanes? why do turbos get bad gas mileage? do you know how a turbo works? extra air from the turbo increasing as pressure increases, means more fuel dumped in to get the same afrs. wow, just wow. oh, and ofcourse not flooring everywhere helps.

Not true, the EVO is a very track reliable car and if the car is over heating there is something wrong with it. The Oil temp and Oil pressure gauge are good as a preventative measure .... so is a boost gauge to make sure you are hitting full boost and have no boost leaks ....

Don't listen to a guy whose engine (with stock internals) will fall apart after reaching 400HP I kid I kid ...

if you really want safe and reliable with all of the warranty coverage keep it stock. modding comes with responsibility if something breaks mitsu has proven they most likely arent going to cover it.

bluesti: you chose a car with an engine that has only been around for a few years over one that has been modified for a decade for reliability reasons? i dont get it. there are way too many people out there with modified evos and dsms to go around saying it isnt reliable. meanwhile what do i know i chose the evo cause i could have leather and a sunroof haha

HUH? I have herd alot more horror stories about the STi. mainly for STis cracking ringlands with some bolt on mods and a little tune. How is a motor that has been around since 89-90 unrelieable? They must have done somthing right in order to keep useing it. The main mitsu down fall I always see is clutch, tranny, and TC if your not dumping it off at 6k the car will be fine even at higher HP#s.

BTW I have an 03 (stock) I never launch the car but boost it alot, prolly more than I should since its pointless at times. I have 16K(ya still a lil low i guess) and no problems at all

I was thinking:
fuel pump(which kind?) - read that the stock one isnt good.
Gauges (what are the top 3 guages you'd use?) - to monitor everything
Better DV/BOV - stock one is cheap and doesnt hold boost that well.

What else could I do to make it more reliable? Is there anything I can do to make it get better gas mileage without effecting performance?
Reliable = leave it alone
