Go with APS if you want both, recirculate at low rpm and vta at higher rpm. Best of both worlds. VTA does get annoying after awhile.

Here is a good questions too. What are the chances of me getting idle problems to stalling problems . I have narrowed it down to what i want . Either APS BLOWOFF VALVE OR HKS BLOWOFF>> please give me percentages. 50%50% problems or less than that.

The HKS SSQBOV version II is awesome...I had the HKS SSQ and got rid of it, even with a recirculation kit custom fab'd, and I lost almost 50hp because it was focking up the ECU...I have the APS now and it sounds and performs GREAT!!

Man, look, you drive an EVOLUTION, not a Honda Civic. Sound is just sound...do you not want something that is USEFUL for your car, that will not cause any potential problems, and that won't cost a lot? You don't need an expensive VTA BOV that does absolutely NOTHING for you other than make noise. Remember what you're driving...it's not some cheap, slow POS that you have to make noise with to get noticed. You have one of the baddest machines in the world, yet you're only worried about making childish noises. Is this what you really want? Is that all that matters to you? I know you keep asking about stalling/idling issues, but you've been told that VTA BOVs are NOT good for our cars, and the fact that they vent to atmosphere in NO WAY helps the performance of your car. Even if you get an APS that does 50/50 recirc/vta, it still isn't helpful. It's just a way to spend extra money so that you can make noise. Does the APS hold boost better than stocker? Well yes of course, but so do all aftermarket BOVs. On the other hand, the ones that DON'T make excessive noise and that don't cause idling/stalling issues cost less and make the car run better.

Either way, you DON'T need to replace the stock BOV until you do other mods and start increasing boost above stock levels. You also didn't need the intake, but I assume you got that as a method of making more noise, too. Unless you just don't care how you spend your money, I'd recommend NOT wasting your hard-earned cash on an expensive BLING bov. Instead, get a Megan exhaust, a flash, or an MBC w/boost gauge. All 3 of these will give you SIGNIFICANT, measurable power increases that are enough to feel on the butt dyno. No, they won't make 2F2F-type noises, but they will make your Evo better than it is instead of making it worse...

Great point ....... . I have to say...... It's just honestly this is my first turbo car. I expected the sound. Don't get me wrong the speed is quite impressive too. But definetly thanks for the feed back.

I think you would get even more enjoyment out of an increase of 50-70whp as opposed to making noise. The purging noise is cool, but unfortunately, the import tuner nation has made it a fad that real performance enthusiasts loathe. Do what makes you the most happy, but I am pretty sure you'd get a much bigger smile on your face from an extra 50whp than you would with an annoying sound.

Don't do it! I just had major problems with mine VTA. The car would stall half the time when I came out of gear into neutral. Just enjoy the sound from your intake. It's not worth the hassle!

thanks everyone. for your input. But man i have so confuse. Forgive me for being nieve about all this. I call this motorsports shop and he said . No problems at all with stalling and idle problems. he said it is even better for ur car to have just as a turbo timer. He is trying to sell me a HKS SSQ 1 with a recirulating kit.
