Don't do it. Everyone and their rice mother has this bov on their car. Stay recirculating with the stock or get a new diverter valve, don't go VTA on the stock ecu/MAF its just not cool. The SSQV works the same with our cars as it does on all other cars, loudly and abnoxiously.
I am runnign a racing bypass valve. With my SUS Blitz intake, it still makes some noise when I shift, but your putting your pressure back into the intake. The Bypass valve I bought was made by turbo XS.
what is VTA? and is it bad for my car? will my check engine light come on? keep in mine everyone i'm a very lite tunner i really just like the sound without any idle or any other problems.

yes your check engine light will come on and your turbo will blow up to pieces.
you want sound? buy a nice loud speaker, record your friend's bov, then burn it on cd, crank it up, and u'll own ur friend's bov.

Basically what happens is, instead of dumping all the extra air pressure from your intercooler pipes back into the intake, the BOV dumps it into the "atmosphere." All of this metered air needs to be recirculated back into the intake otherwise your air/fuel ratio will be off between shifts and after throttle let ups. Your mass air sensor has already measured this air and is adding the proper amount of fuel to creat the proper a/f ratio. Since your sensor has already metered this air, letting it out into the atmosphere causes a rich a/f condition and can lead to stalling and other things.
lan, i ran one on my evo for 6months and never had a problem. It varies from evo to evo. You will not get a cel but it will run a little rich. I took mine off becasue the hks is WAY to loud, but if thats what your after, go for it. You will prolly have less problems with the aps valve, but its not near as loud as the ssq. Most the people who are so against these valves on the forums are people who just repeat what they are told and have never tried it. My hks ran fine but just WAY too loud. It gets quite annoying. at 1psi it still chirps quite loud. My car made no difference on the dyno with and without this valve as for afr. If you are an unlucky one who does stall, you can get an eids which controls your idle, but you prolly wont have problems unless your reving it up in neutral.
when u said less problems with the APS. how much problems did u have with the HKS? also what kind of problems . 1- 10 how much of a problems was it? and if so i do get a HKS and it doesn't work out. How hard is it to put back to stock and forget about it. Also will it damage the Evo in any way in the long run for the motor and the turbo it self?
i have an aem intake and to be honest it doesn't sound good at all. I like the way blow off valves sound. Intake personally sounds just like air breathing deep. with the blowoff valve it actually sounds like a wissle sound u know .
