Buy a damn Mirage or Colt and do the 4G63 swap if you're looking for lightness. Plenty of people have done those with great results.

I have to disagree with the Honda hating though.

they are the same really. DSM 4g63 and EVO 4g63 (little different things) but you know what i mean. try to get a cmplete FWD drivetrain and go with that. Itll be easier to put in. DSM all the way in case i wasnt clear. like he said way cheaper.

thats what ill probably do 1st get a complete FWD drivetrain to make sure i can do the engine cuz there is no point to get an engine and not be able to have a FWD drivetrain know what im sayin straight pointless. how much do u think a project like this will cost.

well i should clarify. I just hate the engines. they arent as strong as they could be (now there are always exceptions) and just have a lot of little problems. but do make power if built right.

you could get decent engine and trans for 1500 maybe somewhere or hunt the junkyards. there it would be as low as 200 or so. if you get used you can rebuild and make it better. fixing everything first is the best bet.

This is why you never keep beer in the garage. Everyone is kicking it and getting tanked. Someone says "Hey bro, you know what would be sweet?" Next thing you know you are trying to put an EVO motor in the back of a Fiesta :-/

The 3G 4 cylinder Eclipse tranny bolts up to the EVO motor fine. Your problem is that the starter position is higher on the Eclipse and that puts the starter right where the EVO turbo sits. If you build a custom exhaust manifold to reposition the turbo it will work. Otherwise an EVO tranny and axles modified to be permanent FWD.

Cost? About the same as an EVO maybe by the time you are done if you are paying a shop to do it all ;-) Life must move pretty slow in McKinney Texas.
