boost on stock evo 8?

boost on stock evo 8?

how much boost the the stock evo 8 run at? and how much can it take on stock motor?

it hits 18, and i heard to be safe is to stay around 21 psi on stock turbo.

On an 05 Evo its 20.31 at 3500 rpms tapering to 17.4 at 6500 rpms.

20.31, is that stock? Thats a lot more than 17. Whats safe for a stock 05 to run?

Damn, people, what's up with all the guesses and misinformation? A quick search gleans all of this info. 5.slow got it right for 05s. They spike at just over 20psi in stock form, but then taper down to near 17 by redline. 03/04s are lower with 19.5psi spike or so tapering down to 16.

Asking what boost the stock motor can take is not a complete question. Many factors play into this, and you have to give more details in to what is being truly asked before an answer can be given.

yes you can get a flash, walbro fuel pump, and head studs which will allow you to run more boost than stock with a manual or electronic boost controller..then you can totally build the pistons rods etc. to hold much more boost while running either race fuel, alcohol injection etc..like the above post its very dependent on what you're talking about and what your goals are

yea, but with out any other mods i heard it was safe to stay around 21-22 . i have an 03 and it only hits 18 max. got to get a boost controller
