turbo timer/car alarm conflict

i had the car alarm installed before the turbo timer
i installed the turbo timer last nite and its working nicely

but when i drove home today and took the key out, turbo timer starts to count down and i get out of the car and locked it. when the turbo timer countdown is done, the engine shuts off and the door unlocks....

i want to be able to leave it locked. solution?

also i figured i cant put it in gear if the turbo timer counts down... there might be one of these days that i would put it in gear, key out, and let off the clutch....

anyway to prevent this from happening?

I'm not quite sure about the alarm problem, but as far as parking in gear goes most turbo timers have a safety feature where if the parking/emergency brake is not engaged then they wont count down after the key is pulled out, they will simply shut off(my HKS TT connects directly to the brake lever sensor). Otherwise there is no possible way to park it in gear if the engine is running, you will simply stall the car OUCH!!!

Yeah, I've been tired and pulled the e-brake but left it in gear. Scares the **** out of you when you left off the clutch and it rocks the car!

I really don't think you can make a TT work perfectly with an aftermarket alarm unless the alarm itself has a built in TT. I had to make this decision when I got my alarm installed this past spring. I just went with a basic compustar alarm without remote start and TT features. I'm anxious to see if you get yours working together. Until then, I will just have to sit in my car for a minute after every drive. No big deal to me.

I don't even worry about my TT not working with my alarm. When I get somewhere I just take key out and dilly dally around in my car and walk away. I usually listen as I walk away from my car to hear the engine shut off then I arm my alarm. No big deal for me.

i actually had the same issue with my stealth TT, they rewired my alarm through the radio harness and everything was good. with my evo i just drive without boosting the last couple of minutes before i park.

I have a DEI viper system, my friend had this DEI viper computer machine thing, he hooked it up to the main brain of the alarm and set my alarm to re-arm in 30 seconds. The car locks itself up and arms back up in 30 seconds, but once the tt shuts the car down, the car does unlock itself and the lights come on. I might see if he can set the alarm to 1 seconds, meaning 1 second after the car is shut down and the doors are all closed the car re arms itself. Some of the retail dealers dont have this little device, might have to ask around and see if someone has it.
