Turbo Timer/Security system concerns
EVOLUTION VIII Hey guys, got some questions and concerns. I am getting a security system (alarm) for my Evo but also want to get a turbo timer. I was told by this guy that there would be some issues cause the alarm wouldn't arm itself until the car shuts off by the turbo timer. I just need to know if that is true and if there's ways around it where I could take the key out the ignition, arm the alarm and have the doors locked while the turbo timer is counting down. Thanks.....Mike

hey Mike -- I think Clifford makes a car alarm that has a built in turbo timer as well -- but don't quote me on that manufacturer. But I do know they exist...
To answer your question though, yes if you have two different pieces of hardware you could run into problems with the alarm not arming. If you haven't beat the hell out of you car when you are parking -- let it idle for a few moments then shut the car off -- you can then arm your alarm. I use the turbo timer for more of a convenience than a necessity -- especially if i'm late for work or something

I have a Viper with alarm, remote start, and turbo timer and it works great. Just hit the button to load the TT before turning off the car, take the key out, set alarm, and the doors lock and alarm sets, engine turns off in the set time.
