Sounds retarded, but on Monday I am trading in my brand new white 05 EVO RS on a brand new red 05 EVO RS!

I am taking a $4,000 loss on the trade in, and saving $7,500 on finance charges by going with the 0% financing.

In other words, I come out $3,500 ahead of where I am now on the white RS. Not as good a deal as I would have gotten by waiting till this week to buy the car in the first place, but still better than the deal I currently have.

Dealership is gona make a fortune on my trade in.

Keith

Why not just refinance to a lower rate and save yourself the loss of vehicle price?

Cars are not houses, you can't just refianance them at will. IF Mitsubishi has him contracted at 5.9% or something, why would they let him out of that to give him 0%? That would be stupid, they have him right where they want him. And even if he was financed with someone else, Mitsubishi is only going to offer 0% on a NEW vehicle sitting on a dealer lot, not a car he's been driving for some time. It is an incentive to sell new, unsold Evos, not to refinance currently owned vehicles.

Sure you can. There is no rule that he has to refinance with the same company that holds his note now. If he went to Capital One or someone like that and they offered him 2.9 or something, Capital One simply cuts a check to for his current payoff, and then the bills start showing up from a different company. Simple.

Please explain how 0% financing can kill you on monthly payments? This is opposed to paying $32000 +4.9% interest.

anyone know if their a certain amount u have to make on a down payment, or can u offer zero for down payment for the 0 interest for 60 months

cause im thinking on trading in my 03 eclipse gt for a 05 rs, and if i can keep the money and not put down a down payment, cause monthly payment would still be cheaper for me without a down payment, 476 a month for the eclipse

You must be thinking $0 down kills you in monthly payments...

Getting 0% financing is nothing but a godsend for ones monthly payments.

For instance...If a car's sale price is $30,000 even
Tax (in CA 8.25%) is $2475
Title\Lic Fees is $450

If you were to put 8k down, assuming 6% financing for 60mo, your monthly payments would be $481.87/mo.

Assuming 0% financing for 60mo, your monthly payments would be $415.41/mo.

Therefore, 0% financing in NO way kills your monthly payments.

While tempting... two 30k cars would put me in the red. Sucks... I could jump on this in a hearbeat if the G35 wasn't there. Be cool to have a ralliart and evo in the driveway
