CF heat shield or Aluminum??

im sure some ppl have these on here and im curious..has any one seen any cracking or anything like that on the CF one from the heat....i dont want to spend that much money on one and it jus crack later....i searched around a little and jus talked about fitment and all that and they was really old posts aswell....and also the aluminum one looks to stick out a lil far? is there a way to slide it back in a lil so it fits right with the bumper or is it jus that way?......thanks

aluminum would make more sense, since the aluminum dispense/resist heat better than carbon fiber weave.

there is a difference between carbon fiber and compressed carbon.

im also debating on which to get. But i think the aluminum would be better at blocking the gases. The cf piece just looks like it covers a little piece as the black stuff could get on that and higher up onto the bumper..

Aluminum is better to handle alot heat.. Racer V8 or drager have Aluminum Header, intake, etc.. also there some Engine block made aluminum too.. i think Corvette had one..

i have the aluminum one and it works wonders.my evo is white so now there is much less carbon that goes onto the bumper.

yea...i think ima go with the aluminum one cuz as plokivos said it will do well with heat better....i think carbon one to an extent does good but i dunno....try to slide the aluminum one back in the bumper more so not so much sticks out....

cf will crack eventually. it's just cf weave with resin on top of it. i'm sure it's not heat resistant resin either, since they're pretty expensive.

ceramic ones will be the best.

I didn't know you could even get a carbon fiber heat shield since CF is _combustible_. I'll have to double check on this one, but I believe that CF ignites at about 1400F, which would make me very uncomfortable so close to the exhaust manifold.
