Stock Evo Dyno

Dynoed my car this morning at a local shop. I have a 04 Evo 8 stock (except boost guage) with 7000 miles on it. I have a Buschur stage 1 sitting in my garage about to install.

Best hp number was 229 and best tq was 237. Does this sound about right? What hp/tq numbers should I expect to gain form the stage 1 kit?

Your curves and AFRs look just right for stock. Your numbers are on the high end, which is good, especially on Ultimate's dyno. Dynojets read higher than other dynos (mustang, dyno dynamics, etc), but your readings are even higher than most 03/04s on a Dynojet, especially in the middle of summer. So, rest assured that your car is making the proper amount of power at this stage.

Now, I'm sorry that I don't keep up with stages and what that entails, since I simply get the mods that I know are needed and only get the parts that cost the least while working the best, but after you install your Stage 1 parts, the most valuable dyno numbers will be the ones you do after the fact. Then, you will know how much was gained from the Stage 1 parts. In general, with a TBE and MBC, you can gain 40-50whp. With tuning added(flash or S-AFC), you can gain probably 60-70whp total over stock, which would put you right near 300whp.

That is obviously not relevant to this discussion. You have an 05, and your numbers are seriously inflated due to unknown circumstances. As I've said 100 times before, until you go out and prove it on the drag strip, I will continue to disregard your claims. By "prove it," I mean that with you dyno'ing only 5 less whp than I, you should be able to go out and run 12.6x in the 107-108 range on 93oct in 80 degree weather. Please, go forth and conquer...

sounds pretty good for a stock evo.

don't mind Rastmp, he's been claiming to make more hp at the wheels than mitsu claims at the flywheel for a while now. He either has the most efficient transmission ever (no loss at all), he had a faulty dyno run, or he's full of ****.

Im just telling you what the Dynotest resulted in.....I have the dynosheet and the test was done at a well known tunner....(Pruven Performance CT).They checked the car many times and re-tested it...It was bone stock! If you want to investigate ..you can call them or Al from DynoFlash...he was there during my dynotest...

Now for some of you this might not sit too well because my dyno sheet proves that not all EVO's are created equal....

BTW, why do I have to go to a race track..to prove what? How is that going to make my car any different?....I know for myself that the car has more power than a typical stock EVO and all I am trying to do is to share my findings.....for technical info...

why don't more big shops use Mustang dyno's or DD's? these dyno jet numbers are always inconsistent and high

Why? Because that will be the TRUE test of power...not a faulty set of dyno readings. How do you know that your car has more power? You don't...you have to go out and SHOW that it does. You aren't sharing any technical info if it isn't proven; all you're doing is spewing misinformation. If, and when, you run 107-108 in the 1/4 on 93oct with no mods, then you can use your dyno numbers for informative purposes. Until then, your "information" is not useful...

Example:

I dyno'd 248/238 stock on a Dynojet with 93oct. I then ran 104mph in the 1/4, which is exactly what is expected on a fairly average run. My 60' was weak, the driving was above average, the track was average, and the temp/humidity was average. That's why I'm able to use my stock dyno numbers as a good frame of reference. You need both pieces to make either one useful...

well suposedlly the newer evos such as the 05s are suposed to be the best, but i dont think a AWD dyno would lie, show us some the dyno slip, so we can believe you.

Buschur stage 1 kit includes 3 inch TBE with race pipe, air filter kit, MBC, Buschur Flash.

Great, then you can use my estimates as a decent baseline. Look for 280-300whp on a Dynojet with 93oct and decent weather conditions (80 degrees).
