if I've been custom flashed but have been pulling some timing lately because of the heat I would want to reset the ecu to reset the timing right? But will this effect my custom flash with the a/f ratios and boost control etc.? p.s. i dont have cams or cam gears just stock cams..i have aftermarket exhaust, bov, mbc, intake, and custom flash

well i think he originally tuned me at 20.5-21 psi and i've been running 22 lately..he did actually tune me earlier this summer it wasnt AS hot but its definitely hotter now. I dont actually know for sure I've just been told its possible since I slightly turned up the boost. I have a walbro fuel pump, new sparks, and his tune so actually I should have probably asked everyones opinion first on whether or not I was pulling timing i guess lol. I dont have a datalogger I was just taking what I've been reading and been told that it was possible let me know what you think based on slightly raising the boost and the temp being probably average of 10 degrees hotter lately at this point in the summer

Al's tunes usually leave room on the rich side, which means you don't normally go lean to the point of knocking, so that would be surprising unless you've increased your boost with the MBC or unless he custom tuned it in the winter. I don't think resetting the ECU will do anything good or bad, but if you are definitely experiencing knock and pulled timing, then It'd turn down the boost a little bit in the heat...

That's why.
I also was tuned for 21 psi on pump and I have to adjust boost when the weather changes. Just last week when we had slightly cooler weather my boost jumped to 22 psi and my 3rd and 4th gear runs were pulling timing. Once I turned the boost down to 21 psi I was flying again. Just ask the modded 99+ Mustang gt that I put 6 buslengths on earlier this week.

Personally I would leave the boost at 22psi unless you feel any dead spots in the power band, you should have enough fuel on top to keep things running consistent and a spike to 22psi isnt going to drastically affect anything in the tune.
Since its good to do periodically I'd disconnect the battery to reset the ECU, let it idle for 15mins after then bring the car through its rev range a couple times at WOT allowing for cool down in between. It should then stay in its primary map if all things are well as I assume they are. Also, the coolant enrichment features of the stock ecu combined with the somewhat conservative timing i've seen Al run should have you covered.
