need some info (newb)

ok people i'm new and was just curious about a few things:
1: how is the maintenece on these cars, high maint, pretty safe car?

2: how are the trannys, Glass/ pretty strong?

3: is buying a used one a safe decision?

4: are there any problems with a particular year?

5: how is the upgradability with these, say is 300 whp and easy accomplishment and what not? (Don;t think i'm a ricer for that comment because peak hp means nadda to me just want a rough idea bout these cars)

6: Anything important i should know before i buy one?

1. high
2. pretty strong if you dont abuse it (??k miles out of mine) clutch is weak if you launch alot so start saving if
3. i personally wouldn't buy a used evo.
4. 05 seems to be the way to go (not to mention 0%)
5. you will never get bored upgrading the car. TONS of parts! 300whp is very easy to get
6. Read up on maintenance. Buy a bunch of oil filters / mobil 1 / mitsu diaqueen sae90 etc etc... Start looking around for a good local shop to do installs you might not be comfortable doing..

7. be careful!

Do your homework, then ask some questions. Everything you asked has been discussed ad nauseam.

Go with what justchill said, unless you know the person who's selling the evo personally and know it was taken care of. The cars can take a lot of abuse though.

This is one of those times when not posting would have been better. If you have nothing useful to say, don't waste the thread starter's time and everyone else's for that matter with this nonsense.

I never understood why people say the maintenance is high on the Evo.

All I have needed to do so far is change my oil.

People b*tch too much on the internet.

Don't waste his time? He already wasted all of our time by making this post without doing any homework. Go ahead and spoonfeed him if you please. He'll just do it again...

I suppose he wasted your time because you actually took the time to post what you did which was not necessary.
