Coolguy I work for a dealership that is why I was driving it.
Finch I agree with you about the milage thing but most cars have around 10 miles when I get them plus my 5.
the 2 cars I got today 1 had 12 miles the other had 87.

I just noticed from rooster's profile that he's a mits tech. If that's what I think it is then maybe he got to drive one becuase he works at mitsu. Hmm.......rooster i think you left out that small detail.

no kidding... that is terrible... brand new engines shouldn't be reved that high until they are broken in. I hope the techs at my dealership are a hell of a lot more considerate.

what kind of snags might a PDI drive legitimately expose and therefore signal an action that the dealer would take?

a tranny drop? hah...

The PDI is more of a shake down just looking for wind noise rattles and any thing that MMc forgot to tighten prior to shiping. You would rather have a major fault happen to me than 2 days after delivery. By the way I have never found anything major in 16 years with MMSA.

The other milage comes from driving from the assy. line to the boat on and off the boat around the port etc.. you get the picture it adds up fast. As for the one my dealer got with 87 miles on it MMNA rendomlyQC cars at the port.
