Cams upgrade ? - Idle/performance

Ok,

I'm about set to upgrade to the Buschur stage 3 but trying to get a little more feedback first. With the 264 Intake and 264 Exhaust Camshafts, what should I expect idle to be like? Will it be pretty sloppy or not much different than stock? I'm only curious because this is my daily driver and I'm very picky about the way my car sounds or runs. But, I would sacrafice some of this if I know the power increase will be worth it! (This would be in addition to the FMIC and Custom Tune)

I would appreciate any feedback regarding difference in power and driveability before purchasing.

Thanks,

With straight GSC 264's you will notice a nice power gain. Idle at start-up is just like stock, however...after running hard for a little bit you'll have a nice loppy idle. Then, after it cools down again...sounds like stock again. I love that sound after getting home from the highway, getting out of the car to let the turbo-timer do it's job, and walking into the house hearing the way it idles until it cools down.

If you're on the stock turbo, either go with 264/264 or 272/264

If you're upgrading the turbo, go with 272/272...or 280's if you're making a big jump.

There's no reason why you should go with 272/272 or higher on the stock turbo...but some people still do.

Boy, I got something started here. Good info. Sounds like the the feedback so far on the 264/264 is pretty possitive. Anymore?

Thanks,

u will have a slight lope every once in a while standing at ur exhaust u can hear it in it, its def not annoying at all though as long as u have it tuned. if u get cam gears u can get a even better idle
