Evo as second car
there is no sense in putting pointless miles on a EVO. I think finding a beater is a good idea. maybe if your boss sees that you are driving a pile of crap he will give you a raise. ha ha

sorry to hear that. you must have alot of self control to say out of the boost on an EVO. once it starts spooling I just can't let off I just love the sound of the turbo. It shows in my avg MPG which at the worst was around 18mpg. That was when i first got my car
Well I went looking on the weekend, and I bought a second car. I got a Daihatsu Sirion, the new model just out this year. Got a 1.3, does about 5.6l/100km, which is around the 50mpg mark. 4 doors, only 3600mm long, and about 1600mm wide. Its a tiny little car, but very very roomy inside, I went for a test and some friends came along, so 4 of us in it and it was fine.
Got a huge deal, list price is $19000 (New zealand $$) but special drive away at $14,200. So for the US guys approx half the price for your dollars, for the money I've never seen such a capable car. $14 grand for a brand new car, with 4 airbags, cd player, air con, HID lights, mags, ABS. Its pretty specced out. Sits 5, all with proper sash belts etc... Really happy with it. I pick it up this weekend I'll drop some pics for you guys then.

Shes trading it in for a new acura TL, so I'm thinking about getting a current gen. Sentra SE-R. The used ones are selling really cheap, and they still pretty good mpg with a little performance.
I just bought a Miata just before the prices went up. I was driving over 100miles a day and from 3 miles to 47k in 1.5 years of ownership on the EVO I cannot do it to that car any more. The miata is light weight, tossible and in a turn can follow an EVO just as well. Its engine is more than enough to get it moving with a riflebolt type shifter. The best part is I can use crap cheap station 87 and it runs great with 33mpg no matter how I drive!
