Talking I Finally Did It

After years of waiting, dreaming, hoping wishing... I went to the dealer today with plans to trade in my 02 OZ Rally and upgrade to an 05 Ralliart. Instead, I left with an 05 VIII SSL. This pretty much sums it up for me:

^infinity

I basically was given what I think was a really good deal, on the road for 32, and I got them to through in the full roof bike rack (since I mountain bike a lot).

First impressions - Making the jump from the OZ is so great because everything is really in the same place, and the shifting feels pretty much the same (I had the short shifter and the Evo knob). The power of this car when its not on boost honestly feels exactly the same as my lightly tuned OZ. Once that boost kicks in, well things just get silly. I can't wipe the grin off my face! I love the leather, love the steering wheel, the Infinity system is plenty good for now, the HIDs are freaking hot... Yeah, you guys all know what I'm talking about.

I don't know what else to say about it, I still feel like I'm dreaming. Here's what really sucks though... I have to go to Boston tomorrow! I just bought this amazing car, and then I have to leave it in a parking garage for a week! I'm going to go nuts!

Anyway, it feels too good to finally have my dream car. Payments will take some getting used to, as will the insurance (until I turn 25 in 3 months), but like my best friend said, anytime I start doubting my purchase, just step on the gas.

Pics and stuff to follow next week. And for all those wondering, I got Wicked White.

HELL YES! I can't wait to get back and take it on all my favorite twisties! I've already taken it on Wheel Road twice tonight, and put about 100 miles on it.

This car is freaking sweet.

what kind of break in do you recommend? i'm definitely letting the turbo cool down each time i've used it, and tried not to get nuts with the rpms.

the nice thing about my job is since i'll be traveling a fair amount and expensing the miles it should offset the payment pretty nicely. unfortunately i'm flying to boston, because believe me, i'd drive if i could!

something else that's funny, i've already noticed all the looks i get. how you guys stay humble with all this attention... its gonna be tough!

awesome bro! WW all the way! classy color without the hassle of a black car (cleaning wise) and won't draw as much attention as the other cars. since my last car was silver i couldn't go down that road again. we'll both be having fun on the 19th, that's when i get back! i can't wait!
