What if I were to sell my 03 evo 8 for 25k? not selling but if I were to sell it. Is it a reasonable price?
mods are:
1)Exedy hyper carbon stage 3 clutch (single carbon disk with lw chromoly fly,lifetime clutch if not over 350whp)
2)B&M short shifter with metal shifter bushings
3)Stainless Steel Brake and Clutch lines w/ DOT 4 ATE super blue racing fluid
4)4 slotted and dimpled zinc coated brake rotors
5)EBC redstuff ceramic pads new formula
6) lightweight bucket seats (cheaper than recaros) can be switched out.
7) HKS turbo timer type 1 mounted into the dash where clock is.

mileage on the evo is 36k and it is in excellent condition. It is a lightning yellow evo with NO WING. Has a sliding sun roof.

the turbo timer is cleanly installed into the dash where the clock is. I'm sure you can immagine. there are pics of others installed like that but you have to search. I cannot upload photos anymore for some reason. [with no wing - i say 19K lol] so the wing is worth 6k?

 

You can find used car values at KBB.com or NADA.com, last I checked on my '03 it was worth around 25k Avg. retail, meaning the car is in excellent condition, tires in good shape etc... That is what you could expect to get if you sold it to the general population, not if you traded it in. It is unlikely that you would get much more for your mods, however, if you sell it to someone interested in those mods, you might see some residual value.

 

if your not selling than why ask..

 

You don't get retail value when selling privately, you get the private party value. Plus, you would be hard-pressed to have an Evo that qualifies for "excellent" condition when it's 2-3 years old and has over 20k miles.

For the original poster, 25k is too high...your car is now worth around 21-22k.

hmmm............I guess if someone were to offer me 23,500 I would had them the pink slip cuz' it is in very good condition. Not good, but not excellent either. It is rather stock except for the lifetime carbon clutch(if you dont launch everyday), and the rather nice brake upgrade, not to mention the good insurance policy for the turbo(HKS tt type 1). It's faster than 5sec stock 03 0-60mph, and it will run 13 sec flat with a great launch because of the lighter clutch. PM me if you wanna chat more...
