The car runs, but your idle suffers along with your AFRs. There's not much gain when installing cams without a subsequent retune. People only run untuned on cams during the short time after installation and before their schedule retune date.

Ran my un-tuned cams for 3 months. Ran .4 faster in the 1/4 with 3" down pipe and H/F cat.

After tuning .... knocked off another .4 ( Granny shift into 4th )

HKS 264's

Just be sure to unplug the battery for a couple minutes so the ecu starts the learning process quickly.

ran 264 cams for 2 months definite performance gains, AFR were really not bad and not dangerous but with the tune really picked up the ponies, made some timing changes for the extra gains.

I just got my 272/272 setup installed and tuned. Before any adjustments we ran it on a dyno dynamic and netted a 5whp gain. After several runs on the dyno with only a small amount of time in between to change the cam gear settings, we ended up with a total gain of 16whp. This is without a flash or piggyback ecu.
