Thank god this dip**** didn't kill anyone, its bad enough that he hurt an innocent passenger. I would sue his *** off, he'd be lucky to afford an 84 Chevette after I was through with him/his family.
Exactly! Too bad his gf had to suffer from his stupidity. Might be harsh, but I really don't give a crap about him since it is his life, so feel free to end it if he wishes. However, just don't put others' life at risk while he wants to risks his. And by him driving so fast on public road with someone else in the car, he is very inconsiderate. As someone else said, I too am tired of subsidizing other people's stupidity. I say, less stupid people, better world!

Not necessarily.

High rates come from high loss records on the particular car.

My Porsche Boxster S was cheap to insure -- why? Low claims record for that car. In other words, not a lot of Porsche owners are out there wrecking their cars.

My 2004 Z06 Vette is only $560 a year for me to insure -- my 2005 EVO is $845 a year to insure. Why? I'm driving a "punk car" with a high loss record as my daily driver. 'nuff said.

Are you ex-military? The reason I ask is that those are obscenely low rates for LA. I have a clean record AND my car is insured in Ventura County.

No, but when this happens and some innocent bystander is killed we don't want any liability by supporting the illegal activity. You can name just about anyone in a lawsuit and this site will not be one them.

Come on guys, have some sympathy. I know its irresponsible and all that, but c'mon, he's a 17 yr old KID. You guys remember when you were 17? Could anyone tell you anything that you didn't know already? This guy was just being a Kid. This is what Kids do.

Now, his parents on the other hand.....they should be caned. Not only for buying their 17 year old an evo, but for buying him a SECOND evo after the first one was wrecked.
