hole in I/C

I just purchased a new front lip for my car and last night while my friend and I were putting it on we noticed a small puncture hole (probably the size of the tip of a pen) in the bottom front of the I/C. How much, if any, would this drop my pressure. Any replies (besides the ones where everyone calls me a big homo for asking a question) are appreciated. Thanks!

can't tell you, you have to do a pressure test. It really would depend where on the fmic the hole is too. if anything, just use some epoxy to fix hole.

Rev it up in Neutral and see if it is blowing out the hole. If you don't want to buy a new FMIC, I have had good luck with JB Weld for durable repairs. You can find it at WalMart. Let it cure well (16 hours) before you fire it up after the repair. GLuck

you might be able to get it tig-welded.....u need a really good welder to weld thin wall aluminum or like the previous few replies, clean/degrease it really well and use JB weld on it. Make sure you use enough so that it forms a plug and not get blow out when u r boosting. good luck!

You should just get a new IC. This hole just gave you an excuse to upgrade.

If the hole was in the area where it would cause a leak then it would be a few psi.

The big question is when you say bottom of the core, are you talking about the end tanks? or you saying the core itself?

If it's a end tank then you have no choice to get it welded (jb included).

If it's the core "bottom plate" then you don't have to worry. If it's "Tube" then you have a problem.

Good luck Bro!
