I noticed most people are getting this while on the highway.

Just asking because i threw the code today for the third time during idle.

So it seems this is mostly happening to people with cams... who did the tune?

Misfire at idle, or while driving? Describe your situation. No, replacing plugs does not = voided warranty. Use the stock NGK plugs.

mine was plugs, they put the wrong type in. I took mine to the dealership they charged all kinds of dough because of mods so take it to a tuner shop.

No one's true misfire issue is plug related. You had some sort of anamoly unrelated to the p0300 issue which is 1) injectors, or 2) harmonic interference.

But I should add, glad you got it resolved. It'll make you hate your car.

Will it throw the code after the car is warm on restart or just in the morning when it is cold?

Whats your IDLE rpm? What size cams, what form of Engine management? what size injectors.. all can have an effect, the injector dead time and latency can cause momentary lean conditions which can cause the resonance, low idle can cause it, misfire from plugs, etc..

You might have to raise your idle slightly if its under 1000 with cams.. I also recommend everyone upgrade their ignition to some sort of amplifier (DLI-II) which will help with misfiring at any point anyway.. Especially with cams and bigger injectors.

i'm getting a p0300 code like every 1000-2000 miles on my car. i've gotten it at idle and cruising on the highway. i have the same mods as titaniumkingpin. right now i'm only on a mail-in flash. i had a dynoflash custom tune before the cams, and the fuel pump and it was fine.

Malibu - I did raise my idle a while back because of the cams. My rpm right around 1000 at idle. Cams are HKS 264in/272ex and i am on stock injectors and stock ignition. I am using NGK BPR7ES gapped at around 23. Just changed the plugs not too long ago.

I am on a Dynoflash right now. Previously, i was using another vendors flash and that made me throw this code much more often. After the Dynoflash, i am getting this code maybe once every 3-6 months. So, it isn't very often but i did notice that it is during idle when the car has been driven (warm). I remember once after a 30 minute drive i came to park my car and threw the P0300.

I will try the DLI-II.
