Yeah, I always have the problem. I see no reason to refer to the artificial redline that is painted on the tachometer, since it's not really relevant, but I know what you mean. Even holding 26psi to 7k rpm is very unlikely, since the stock turbo just runs out of breath naturally after 6500, and that's in the 21-22psi range. I'm only really at 19 or so after 6500 when I drive on a daily basis after a spike of 21.5-22 or so...

Damn you bastards, where does "warrelton" come from? Is that what it looks like when you glance at it? It's WARR-Talon. You can find me in a GG MR that looks stock inside and out except for the exhaust tip. Then, I will also have some magnets that say THE SPEED FACTOR. I'll more than likely be wearing a shirt that says WARR racing.

My Yellow 05 EVO (no SSL) will have custom license plate frames that read:

I installed my jdm mr bov and turned up the boost a little on race gas. I spiked as high as 27-28psi and held 24psi all the way to 7000rpms. You never know it might be possible. Im running 264s. Im thinking 11.6s are in order the next time I hit the track.

Good numbers either way.

Yeah...before I heard Steve refer to you as Warr-talon, I referred to you as Warrel-ton too (that is when I wasn't using your real name). This weekend when you introduce yourself around at the shootout as screenname Warr-talon and get blank looks, just tell people that they might know you as Warrel-ton and there will be instant recognition

my stock turbo do hold steady 25psi to redline no problem, and its from the reading on my AEM EMS not my crappy autometer boost gauge that says 26.5psi.

Steve,

It sounds like a killer stock turbo setup. Although I am a little sceptical about hoilding that kind of boost. Is that measured via a 3 bar map or a boost gauge. I used to believe that I was holding boost real well until I installed a map sensor. Then I was brought back to reality. See you Saturday!

Haha, I thought the same thing until I took a closer look at it.

Holding boost to 26psi is not happening with the 280's. Not blaming you however, because I am certain you are not staring at the gauge the whole time. I hit 30.00psi last night with the AEM map sensor and logged the whole run as I have been doing for the last 99 passes. The boost will taper no matter what, however this effect has been reduced according to mods I have done to try to prevent this from happening. Stock or 264 cams are much more likely to accomplish boost-holding because they restrict more air from entering the cylinders, allowing the boost to build up awaiting the next stroke.

hmmm well it dfoest look like it goes below 1.6-1.7 bar. I mean of course i cant start at the boost gauge because i have it down in my cubby hole. The gauge I have is a defi BF amber. Its definitely spiking to 30 though and then I do see it dropping off but it just doesnt seem to go lower then 1.6-1.7 bar which is what??? 25 psi I guess? I know 1 bar equals 14.75 psi, so even 2 bar is 29.5, yea i guess it is dropping off to like 24 psi. car feels like an animal though!!!

Holds steady 25psi no problem? Again, that just doesn't make sense. I'd like one of these super turbos, but in the meantime, I'll just keep running low 12s (maybe high 11s) with the normal taper to 20psi or so. You would think that one car holding 24-25psi to redline would be much faster than another car only spiking at 22 and holding at 20, but that doesn't seem to be the case...

1 bar = 14.5037738 pounds per square inch

1.6bar= 23.2psi

1.7bar= 24.6psi

AEM 3.5Bar MAP sensor 50.75 gauge psi -subtract 1 atmosphere for sea level 14.7 = 36.05psi range of this sensor.
