What is my car worth now???

I have on 03 Evo with a Full Bushur Racing turbo back, HKS intake, Bushur MBC,
powder coated wheels, JDM black taillights, Defi Boost guage, TEIN springs, AND A BRAND NEW MOTOR!

Mitsubishi warrantied my car and gave me a brand new motor (short block, pistons, rods, etc...)

The car has 30,000 miles, but the new motor only has 800 highway miles. The tires have about 1000 miles on them and I even have a good set of Pirelli Wintersport tires to go with it.

Kelly blue book says that the private party value is $26,735 more or less. Does this sound about right???

No, KBB does not say that, and no, your car is worth nowhere close to that much.

Due to having mods and since the motor has been REPLACED (or rebuilt), that makes it even worse...almost as if it has been wrecked.

A "new" engine isn't going to increase the value, and as stated above it's a bad thing. Also, you can't really sell mods on the car man, I'm not sure why, but you just can't. Probably has something to do with not being able to finance them =p

edit: By can't sell them, I mean you can't really expect a whole lot of money out of them. Unless its like a crapload of mods imo. Like the Florida AMS evo could probably get a lot of money for that car =p

edit2: Kelly blue book is used by dealerships that want to rip people off. NADA is what you should use to get a realistic price.

When I bought my evo used, 8 months ago. It was an 03, 20k miles all stock, perfect condition. KBB says 30,400 bucks or something like that. NADA said 26,500. I got the car for 23,500 so I still think I did very well, considering I got it at a dealership.

http://www.nada.com is your friend

put it on the block for $26,735. If nobody buys it, then it's not "worth" that. It's all about what someone is willing to pay. I'm sure there's someone that you could talk into loving the fact that it has a new motor.

I'm sorry but I'm thinking at most $23,000, I know it's a new motor, but that would raise many questions in my head and I don't think there is anyway I would buy your car for blue book. Sorry but I hope everyone who mods there car understands that they will never get back the value of their mods, your modifying your car for your own enjoyment, do not expect to get your money back for them.

I never expected to get money out of the mods especially when they were already installed on the car when I bought it. I also didn't expect to get $26,700, but a new motor to me would be a good thing. Plus the fact that even with the mods, Mitsubishi warranteed the car. Hmmmm....I'll let you guys know!

I would say closer to 22k. If you find someone wanting yellow really bad in your area, and yours is the only one available, you might be able to get what you're asking. It all depends on the consumer and not so much kbb.

I agree. I just talked to the local dealer and they will only give me $20.5K trade-in with 30K miles and no problems. They aren't going by book value, per se, they are going by what it will bring at an auction. They suck.
