Could only buy a silver or black 05 EVO 8

Hi,

I am happy for my friend, we went to the dealer last night and he ended buying a 05 EVO. The bad news is that he had absolutely no choice over the colors.

He want it a white 05 EVO, about 2 hours into the operation, the manager confirmed us that the last White Evo was just sold about 15 minutes before we officially signed the papers.

This dealer (O'rielly Mitsubishi in Tucson) told us that the only EVO available at all were the Silver and Black. They told us that the availability was mandated by whatever Mitsubishi sent from Japan to the USA.

I was wondering if Mitsubishi uses a database for the entire country and dealers or do they search just as regions, ie(western area Cali,Oregon ,Washington, etc)

We wish to have your opinions on this issue. He got the EVO VIII for $29500 plus tax and registration etc,

Is the lack of colors on the EVO8 a clear indication that the EVO IX is around the corner? was $29500 a good price for a EVO 8 in Tucson?

We tried to get the $1000 off for the customer appreciation reabate but we did not get it, we also try the 0% financing but the dealer said that it would apply for Evo's or Eclipses..

I would appreciate if you could give me some comments.

Thanks!!

yall got ****ing lied to hardcore

the price is good for the car. but the intrest rate should be 0% period

you were lied to and fell for it.

also there are tons and tons and TONS of other dealerships to go to. so what if you have to drive 100 miles to the next town or 200 to the next city. you'll get your car if you call on the phone and work out a deal and also will get the 0% intrest.

sorry guys :<

This dealer is a LIAR. 0% ABSOLUTELY APPLIES TO THE EVO. I got one in Blue for 0% in early this August. I would not buy from this dealer if I were your friend. The dealer should be able to help you get a different colored EVO on a trade from another dealer. HB Mitsu in CA dud just that for a friend of mine who wanted a Blue EVO.

RUN AWAY FROM THIS DEALER

When did you get yours?, the time frame is a big difference. I have the feeling that whatever is there in the market that is it, the Evo 9 is due in a couple of months.

I am just sad for him, he want it a white EvO, choosing the colors is a big decision. He is also taken a hit on his Mini Cooper S trade in but could not resist buying an Evo after he drove my MR.

yeah, the advertising doesn't say "Does not include XXXXXXXX" It says ALL '05's (However I don't know if there are credit stipulations, but that's not what the dealer told you anyway). Also, they were surely to lazy to deal with transporting any other Evos, so they told you whatever they had was all you could get. There is a rainbow of Evos at all of my local dealerships. Of course Stohlman in Tysons is one of the biggest, esp. for Evos, so they get a lot... but still: They lied at least 2 times to you.

You just gotta say "OK, I'll try another dealership" and play some hardball...

The $1,000 cash back is also applicable to the EVO. I just bought mine on Monday with the SSL package for 30,200, zero percent financing and the $1,000 rebate. Sticker was $34,750 or thereabouts. I'd definitely find another dealer. Also check out www.Edmunds.com to find out what the invoice price is and use it as a negotiating point.

Dealing with O'Reilly

I looked at cars at O'Reilly a few months back. They gave me to a salesman who supposedly knows evos - wrong. They also told me some wrong stuff about cost, invoice, options etc. The price sounds right, but, sounds like they lied to you about the 0%. GL

I wanted white too and ended up getting black. I still love it
My choice of color was like this: white - silver - red - black.
They had 2 blue, 2 black, one silver with 1500 miles and no white or yellow.
Black car had 4 miles on the clock and I bought it.
