Is it normal to loose oil?

after my oil change at 1200 miles the oil level was right under the the top groove on the oil stick. Now after 1000 its just above the last groove on the oil stick. does this seem normal? i did break the car in like Mitsu said..however the car did have 25 miles when i got it and it could have been out on a couple hard test drives!!

I just went through the same thing you are going through. I ate a huge amount of oil up until about 4,000 miles. Then all of a sudden it stopped. It's weird, but it's normal.
