To compare tire tread wear ratings from different tire makers, is like comparing apples and oranges. There is no standard set of numbers that all tire makers use. It is different from company to company. So to compare the tread wear rating from Evo to STI is a moot point. But, read any magazine from when the cars first got to the states. They almost all say something about the Advans and how good of tires they are. The Advan is a superior tire to the Bridgestone.

I like both a lot, but I like my STi more. Just my opinion though. They feel completely different when driving. When I hop out of the Evo and get into the STi, the STi feels like a better built more solid car and fast. When I get out of the STi and get into the Evo, the Evo feels cheaper and the steering response with the super quick steering ratio feels quicker but the turbo lag feels even more horrible compared to the STi. You don't feel it as much in the Evo when you just drive the Evo all the time, but going from directly from a drive in the STi where there is virtually no turbo lag, the lag feels bad and the car doesn't feel as fast as you thought. But, I like both cars in stock form and in modded form right now the Evo has the edge just by industry support alone. Ashame though, but the STi industry will catch up here in the US eventually.

No, but both cars have the plus's and minus's and it all boils down to your driving ability and conditions. The Evo has razor sharp steering the STi(except Spec C) does not. Both cars are equally capable of taking turns at high and unsafe speeds as long as the driver has the ability to handle the car.
