It is very tempting though, as the current head unit and speakers are about the worst i have experienced on a car manufactured within the past 5 years.

What do you guys with systems think?

i was going through this also. i thought about everything and decided that a system is still worth it. i mean, unless your an all out drag/autocross car, adding a little weight wont make enough difference where you can actually feel that the car is slower(in most cases). i took my spare tire out and did a fiberglass enclosure with 2 boston acoustic g5 12s (highly recommend these, unbelievable sound!) in a sealed enclosure. to get extra volume without adding another sub or making the box too big, i added 2 of their 12 inch radiators. i have always like systems, i figure since i drive this car alot, it would be nice to have a good stereo.

i wanted a system. where my trunk would still be usable, and this set up worked out well. i have a mini battery from buschur and knew it would not be able to power the system so i added 2 mini batteries in the trunk which fixed everything. honestly, i cannot tell a difference between the system and not having it. i figure i added another sixty pounds(not sure just a guess), which is counting the spare tire out of the car. this is not counting the buschur mini battery being lighter than stock, exhaust lighter than stock etc. so overall i think im back to being around even as a stock evo.

btw, there will always be a car faster than you. so is it really worth giving up some things for comfort or enjoyment to a far extent? personally, i do not think so.

Just don't get crazy with it.

Deck, components, and a Basslink, or a sub/box/amp if you must.
