Who has a system?

I have been debating putting a decent system into my car. Based on principal alone, I have decided against it. It seems like Mitsu went to extreme lengths to keep the car light (aluminum hood, light wheels, shaved glass, etc.) Adding additional (unnecessary weight) seems like it is counterintuitive and will hurt performance. It is very tempting though, as the current head unit and speakers are about the worst i have experienced on a car manufactured within the past 5 years.

What do you guys with systems think?

You could put in some components and a deck without adding any weight and get much better sound unless you are looking to bump.

For some reason, systems are all or nothing to me. I'd rather drop $2K, or just leave it stock. The mach 460 i had in my mustang was decent, but I always wished it had stronger bass.

Bass = weight for sure. There will definitely be some trade off if you want bass.

I may do a little something in the future, but the stock is fine for now.

1 10W7 or 1 of any JL audio will do wonders and all you will want..not too heavy, and can be easily taken out for runs..

Spare tire/tools = unecessary weight.... subwoofer, amps, and custom enclosure that weight 5-10 lbs more than the spare tire/tools = totally worth the extra 5-10 pounds.

http://www.carconceptsslc.com/instal..._evolution.asp Is my car, and we weighed the whole thing compared to the spare tire and tool stuff (minus the piece of wood, and the new piece of wood that covers the sub so I can use my trunk still.)
