Dammit... drove the Evo today...
...and my Ralliart will never be quite the same.
Dude... It's quite the car. Honestly, I can see where it would take some getting used to... the clutch is WAY trickier than the one on the RA (I stalled it pretty quick, and the hot sales girl laughed at me!) and of course the handling is better... when the turbo kicks in... WOW. I thought the RA had some kick, but after driving the Evo, it's very tame.
Sure, it's loud, rides pretty rough and it's certainly a bit more expensive... but I gotta admit, I want one pretty bad now!

well when I first got my Evo I stalled twice with cops behind me. I was waiting for the green light with Cops on my ***. Evo is my first manual car, and when I saw them in the mirror with their lights on ( I had Evo for ~ a week or so then ) I couldn't get the clutch/gas combo right lol. They told me to move through the speaker, and I was thinking to myself "Im trying man". Finally on the 3rd I was successful lol.

Plus, the Ralliart fits my budget (2 cars, house payment, furniture, appliances, ect ect...) a tad better, although now I see why people are willing to spend a little more $$ to drive the bad boy.
As for the clutch, yeah, it took a few tries!! When I first got the Ralliart, the clutch "seemed" a bit touchy and hell, the Evo is a drivers car, a honest-to-god race car, and that skill with the clutch is required!
I can totally picture some of these "Dooodz, daddy just got me an Evo8 for my first car!" people stalling it over and over.
By the end of the test drive, I was taking off pretty smoothly tho. I guess what I hear is true... with the Evo, it's all about the launch!
I just bought an EVO last weekend, the clutch is fine, easy to press down, and it just works like it should. I traded in a civic with an ACT clutch on it and this thing is so much easier to drive then with the ACT clutch, not saying I don't miss the ACT clutch, and the way I drive I'll probably be upgrading to clutch on my new EVO pretty soon. I don't see how anyone could stall it, unless maybe they are first learning to drive stick????

now, this is why all the clutch horror stories are happening....all the first time with a manual folks.

Honestly, it just has a different feel to it. I'm no manual rookie... I've been driving stick for 10 years, but this also isn't my old '93 Nissan Sentra!

Really, I think I was a little hesitant at first to really "get on it" since there was some traffic and I wasn't sure what the Evo would do. Once I got to an open road, well, it all fell into place.
It's funny, when I sit in the Evo, I feel right at home since everything is in the same place as my Ralli and OZ.
