Which is the EVO VIII? (fast, cheap, reliable)
I saw this saying in DB8GSR's signature, thought it was pretty clever:
Pick two - Fast, Cheap or Reliable
I was wondering what you guys would consider the EVO VIII?
I'm really interested in this car, just don't know if I want to shell out the money.

Actually, so far with over 12,000 miles on my car all I can say is that it's been just about all three of those.
Extremely Fast
Cheap as far as bang for the buck even with mods. I can keep up with or beat cars that cost at the very least twice what I've got in mine.
Have never had a problem with it as far as reliability EVEN WITH all the aftermarket parts and driving it hard.
Where else do you get blistering performance at this price while still having a full sized trunk, four doors and all wheel drive?
just my opinion........

i have 33,000 miles on my car, and its never dissapointed me. I used to put 93 octane in my car, but since i moved out to arizona, i have to mix 91 and 101 together to make 94ish octane. It still never dissapoints me. I love the car to death, of the 2 words, i have to say fast and realiable. Im still on stock clutch and nothing has never broke on me.
Well..it's not cheap..atleast in my opinion only being 22. It is fast (kind of a given) and I have 21k miles on my car and I haven't had any problems, atleast that I know of. Only thing I've had is my dash lights are all whacked out and sometimes go out at night..gotta get that fixed. You're still gonna have rattles and **** though. They aren't horriblely bad..and if you are listening to music or your windows are down you don't even hear it. I'm also on the stock clutch (and I learned to drive manual on it) so I guess I can't complain. I figured my clutch would be gone by 5k miles considering what a lot of people were saying on here when I first got the car.
Whether the car is cheap or expensive is something subjective. If you don't make a decent living, I could see this car consuming a good deal of your income even if left stock and driven responsibly. For those who can afford it, it can easily be seen as a great value for the price. It is very fast and its handling is phenomenal. From what I've heard and read, it is by far the best value for the money. You'd have to pay a lot more $ to get comparable performance.
As far as reliability is concerned, I've only had the car for 2 months (6500 miles). In that time I've had to have the brakes replaced twice (pads and rotors were defective) under warranty. Other than that, nothing has gone wrong. I don't anticipate any issues in the future. It seems to be a very solid and well-built car.
Call me vain, but I enjoy the attention that comes with owning this car. I have, to my knowledge, one of seven Evos in Fresno and the only Electric Blue in the Central Valley.
Gas is a killer, though. I can afford it, but $300+ every month is irritating. Just when I start to think that I should be driving a Honda Civic, I get in the Evo and I immediately forget that thought. Ah well...
