That totally sucks!!. The gas thing is a reasonable thing to try as many can attest to the differences in gas depending on the station. Good luck

Just get a Lemon Law attorney, This is a problem that Mitsubishi knows about and will not fight. I Lemon Lawed a early production date 04 RS, so yes some 05's can get the code. Hopefully you have not modded your car, but it may not matter that much. I would get a 05 and keep it no more that 10yr/100k miles. so far my 05 has been flawless.

I can't believe that This dealership is charging you for P0300. So if you anybody gets the code outside of Warrenty you are truely screwed. you will not pass smog with the code. I made the right decision Lemon Lawing my 04. Now I can give you a good attorney's Phone number just PM.

I think that the Lemon Law only applies if your car is still under Factory Warrenty. Knowing this I would not buy or own a 03.

Changing gas brands won't solve it, changing plugs won't solve it, resetting the ECU constantly won't solve it... removing the knock sensor will, but hell who wants to roll around like that with a stock untuned ecu?

The only way around this that I have seen is to get a non-OBD EMS setup and running well, it will still log the misfire event depending on how sensitive the knock sensor has been setup to operate, but that's it. NO more CEL, NO more misfiring 'feeling'.

mitsubishi is terrible with servicing cars

theres a transfer case recall on all dodge stealth and 3000gts, half the time they basically tell you they cant help even though its a national recall which states that they're supposed to fix or replace leaking transfer cases

they're so far in the hole with debt that they try and cut corners with their service and it ends up making them lose customers

Lemon Law that POS. You shouldnt have to tolerate your car going into limp mode that often.

And getting an AEM is a rediculous answer. The car should work in stock form...period.

Do you people even know what I have been through to come to the conclusion that I need an EMS?

I'd say you should shut it or read up, but I don't want to be a d1ck about it.
